About Us image
   Considering socio-economic and educational backwardness of the Scheduled Caste (SC) communities the government of Telangana convinced that starting separate schools for these communities with no economical burden on them was the right measure to provide better access to quality education. Against this background, the government established Social Welfare Residential Schools in areas predominantly populated by the SC communities.Thus, came the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) under the Societies Act as an autonomous body.

   The Government of Telangana has sanctioned 30 TSW Residential Degree Colleges for women Vide G.O.Ms.No.20, SCD (RS) Dept, dated 02.06.2016 and sanctioned teaching and Non-teaching staff posts on regular and outsourcing basis vide G.O.ms.No.79 Finance(HRM-II) Dept. dated 22.06.2016. In which 671 staff are working on regular basis in the cadres of Principal, Lecturers, Librarian, Physical Director and Health Supervisors and 658 staff are working on Outsourcing and temporary basis in the cadre of Principal, Faculty, DEO, Record Asst. Asst. Caretaker, Office subordinates, Security guards & others.
A total of seven English medium courses viz B.Sc (MPC), B.Sc (MSCs), B.Sc (BZC), B.Sc (ZMC), B.Com (Computers), B.Com (General) and B.A. (HEP) were offered in 26 TSWR Degree Colleges with an intake of 40 students for each course in each college.
In four TSWR Degree Colleges were started with specialized courses with an intake of 40 students for each course.

   TSWR Degree College, Bhuvanagiri, Yadadri Bhongir District converted into TSWR Armed Forces Preparatory Degree College for Women from the A.Y. 2018-19.
   Aim of this conversion is to provide multiple opportunities of education cum employment available for women in all Indian defence services and to gain an entry as officers, meant for women in all the three defence services viz. Army, Navy and Air Force for students of TSWR Degree Colleges.
   Selection process to conduct Psycho Analytical Screening, physical & medical tests for admission of girl student to TSWRAFPDCW, Bhongir from among those who had already qualified for admission into TSWR Degree colleges for Women.
   The lady cadet is supposed to be preparing herself for Defence both physically & mentally. The physicals include PT, Drill & Sports and the academics include preparation for AFCAT, CDS, Paramilitary Military Assistant Commandant Exams & for SSB Interview.

   The vision is to build an outstanding government educational institution which provides high quality holistic and value based education to marginalized children on par with the other advantaged children in the country.

   The mission of the TSWREI Society is to promote a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities beyond the confines of classrooms to create a vibrant teaching and learning environment and help marginalized students realize their full potential in every sphere of life in the 21st century.
